Young Myoung Ko

Young Myoung Ko is a Professor in the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). He is an active researcher in data-driven stochastic systems operations, with applications in renewable energy systems, manufacturing and service systems, telecommunication networks, and transportation systems, and has published extensively in these interdisciplinary areas. He received the Distinguished Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Doctoral Research from Texas A&M University (university-wide recognition) in 2011 and the Doctoral Dissertation Award for Operations Research in Telecommunications from the INFORMS Technical Section on Telecommunications (worldwide competition) in 2012. Prior to joining POSTECH, he worked at Sabre Holdings, a global leader in air transportation solutions, as an Operations Research Analyst, focusing on enterprise operations optimization in the airline industry.

He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering from Seoul National University and Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University.
